You Were Never
Searching for Us.

The Montague Society is guided by the Keepers—silent custodians of Niagara’s hidden paths, forgotten stories, and carefully guarded secrets. Treasures have been left throughout the city, waiting for those curious enough to follow the signs and brave enough to look beyond the obvious. But be aware: not every clue was meant to be found, and the Keepers are always watching. Proceed carefully—whatever Niagara chooses to reveal is yours to discover.

Montague Society engraved medallion A Message from the Keepers

Niagara Rewards Those
Who Look Closer.

The Montague Society is not a guide in the ordinary sense. It is a living record of Niagara—its remarkable places, true histories, memorable tables, strange wonders and carefully guarded discoveries. Follow the marks left by the Keepers and the city will begin to reveal more than any map could show.

Keeper Record No. 001

How the Investigation Unfolds

Every path begins with three marks. None are placed without purpose.

I

The Raven

Observation

The Black Watcher appears where attention has wandered. Find the raven, call upon him, and the first mark will be entered into your record.

II

The Brass Plate

History

Engraved plates protect stories drawn from Niagara’s real historical record. Examine each one carefully; the past often preserves a clue.

III

The Keeper’s Note

Discovery

A private message has been concealed within every path. Recover it to receive the Keeper’s instruction and complete the page investigation.

The Keeper’s Map

Six Paths. Countless Discoveries.

Each path opens a different side of Niagara. The Table records food and drink. The Game Room protects places of play. The Gorge follows nature and adventure. The Edge seeks thrills. The Cabinet catalogues wonders and oddities. The Shadows waits for those willing to explore after dark.

Within every path are honest reviews, favourite discoveries, useful local details and optional puzzles. The mystery may lead you onward, but the records themselves remain clear enough to help you choose where to go.

The Record Remains True

Real History. Society Commentary.

Niagara’s history is never rewritten for the game. Every historical entry is presented as part of Niagara’s Record and supported by credible sources. Fictional messages appear separately as The Keeper’s Note, allowing mystery to surround the truth without changing it.

Beyond the Screen

The Society Has Outposts.

Some participating Niagara businesses protect physical Montague Society plaques. Each plaque may contain a riddle, letter, symbol or cipher needed to restore a larger mystery. Enter the recovered answer into your ledger and the Outpost will be recorded as visited.

Collect enough fragments and the Society Vault may open—revealing special offers, Keeper rewards and prizes left for those who complete the journey. The principal hunt does not require a purchase. Discovery must be earned through observation, not bought.

The Society has kept its records long enough.

What the Falls Remember

Long before the Society recorded its first discovery, the mist carried stories from one generation to the next. Some were written. Others survived only because someone chose to remember.

✦ Look beyond the obvious. The Keepers rarely mark what they wish everyone to see.
